Because embroidery is created using thread rather than ink, artwork needs to be prepared specifically for embroidery. The finished result can therefore look different from the original artwork shown on screen.
Your artwork is converted into an embroidery file before production. This process determines how the design will be translated into stitches.
We assess artwork before production and may need to make adjustments to achieve the best possible result.
Some designs may require simplifying or modifying details, particularly where they contain very small text, fine lines or intricate elements.
Embroidery has practical limitations when it comes to very small lettering and fine detail.
Small text may need to be enlarged or simplified to remain clear when stitched. Very fine lines can also become less defined once embroidered.

Embroidery uses thread colours rather than printed ink, so thread colours cannot always match the colours in your original artwork exactly.
Where possible, we select the closest available thread colour to your design.
If exact colour matching is important, particularly for corporate branding, please let us know before ordering.
Gradients, shadows and photographic effects do not translate directly into embroidery.
A design containing these elements may need to be simplified into solid areas and suitable thread colours.
Photographic images are generally not suitable for conventional embroidery unless they are specifically adapted for the process.
The size of an embroidered design affects the level of detail that can be achieved.
Large areas of stitching can also make a design heavier or firmer than the surrounding fabric.
For this reason, the ideal size and level of detail will vary according to the garment, the design and its intended placement.

The available embroidery area depends on the garment and its construction. Placement may therefore vary slightly between different products and sizes.
Because embroidery is created with thread, the finished design has a textured and slightly raised appearance.
Minor variations in stitch placement, thread tension and the way the fabric sits during embroidery are normal characteristics of the process.
These do not necessarily indicate a fault.
Correct care will help maintain the appearance of your embroidery.
We recommend:
Follow the garment care label.
Wash garments according to the recommended temperature.
Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.
Avoid excessive heat when drying.
Do not iron directly over raised embroidery.
Where possible, turn garments inside out before washing.
Different garments may have different care requirements, so always follow the care instructions supplied with the garment.
